Welcome to the FAQ section for the 47th Annual Conference on Aging! Below are the most asked questions to help you prepare for the event. If you have additional questions, please contact NM Aging Services at altsd.coa@altsd.nm.gov
When and where is the conference taking place? The conference will take place on September 23-25, 2025, at Glorieta Conference Center, located at 11 NM-50, Glorieta, NM 87535, about 20 minutes outside of Santa Fe.
What is the theme of this year’s conference? The theme is “EngAGE as you Age.”
Is the event inclusive?
The State of New Mexico worked diligently with Glorieta to ensure that no provisions in the venue’s contract or terms of use prohibit any group of citizens from participating in the Conference on Aging. The state made it clear from the beginning that this event must be open, inclusive, and welcoming to all participants.
The New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD) is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the conference, including programming, speakers, exhibitors, and marketing. Glorieta is serving solely as the venue and is not involved in any planning, content review, or decision-making related to the conference.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend, please notify us at altsd.coa@altsd.nm.gov. While refunds are not available, your cancellation allows us to better manage the event logistics and accommodate others from the waitlist.
Do I need to check in when I arrive? Yes, attendees must check in at the registration table upon arrival. There will be signage throughout the venue, as well as volunteers helping you navigate.
Will New Mexico Aging Services provide transportation for attendees? New Mexico Aging Services will be coordinating shuttles throughout all three days of the conference to and from various locations in Santa Fe. A map of shuttle locations and schedule will be updated soon.
Can I drive myself to Glorieta? Due to the increased capacity of this year’s conference and limited parking on-site, we are encouraging attendees to utilize our park and ride shuttles from Santa Fe. If you are coming with a senior center/program and are bringing a group of attendees, you may drive to Glorieta.
What time does the conference start and end? Please visit our program overview for all start and end times.
Where can I find the full event schedule? The full event agenda can be found here
Is the venue accessible for individuals with disabilities? We are working diligently to ensure the venue is accessible for individuals with disabilities. This includes providing onsite shuttle transportation to help attendees move between program areas, as well as placing seating along walking paths so attendees can take breaks as needed. Elevator access is available, though limited, so we encourage attendees to use stairs or outdoor ramps when possible.
Will there be translation services available? Yes, the conference will have an ASL interpreter, as well as Spanish translation through headsets.
Will meals be provided? Please view the meal times and menu by visiting here
Can I bring outside food and beverages? Outside food is allowed as a snack, but please be mindful of other attendees with allergies and dietary restrictions.
Do I need to bring anything with me? We recommend bringing a notebook and pen to take notes during the informative breakout sessions, as well as a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. We also recommend bringing sunscreen, as some sessions are outdoors.
What should I wear? Please wear layered, comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.
